The Honda S600 is an automobile manufactured by Honda. It was launched in March 1964. It was available as a roadster and as a fastback coupé – introduced in March 1965. The S600 was the first Honda available in two trim levels. During its production run up to 1966, the model styling would remain pretty much the same, with the most notable changes coming to the front grille, bumper, and headlights. The S600 got 57hp out of a 606cc 4-cylinder DOHC engine that could hold its own compared with racing engines, and it featured a motorcycle style chain-driven rear wheel drive. Exports to Europe followed as the S600 quickly gained respect, gaining popularity as a highly lightweight and speedy sports car. It was also to prove a success in races both inside and outside of Japan. The Tamiya model faithfully captures the essence of the S600, thanks to new tooling and updated parts from the S800 model kit.

About the model:

• This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit.
• The compact, lowdown form of the S600 is covered with accuracy.
• This kit is based upon Tamiya’s accurate kit of the S800 (Items 24190, 89657). New parts are included to depict S600-specific features such as the front grille and bumper unit, hood, radiator-top parts, brake and reverse lights, plus wheels.
• The unique rear chain-drive unit-based trailing arm suspension is concisely and realistically captured, as is the front double wishbone setup.
• Parts are included to recreate the S600 as an open top with folded down roof, or as a hard top.
• Decals and metal transfers have been newly designed for this model.

Art.Nr.: 300024278 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:24 Renault Alpine A110 ´71 Monte Carlo

In 1997, Tamiya released the street version of the Alpine A110 as a 1/24 scale model, and its perfect duplication of the car's nostalgic design was a big hit. Now, Tamiya presents the rally version of the Alpine A110, representing the car that won the 1971 Monte Carlo Rally.

The Alpine was developed by Jean Redele, who initially raced with the Renault 4CV. He soon noticed the limitations of its heavy body, and decided to replace it with his own design made of FRP. Redele drove a modified 4CV, dubbed the Alpine, to victory in the Mille Miglia road race in 1955, and continued to develop new versions based on Renault cars. The Alpine A110 was released in 1963, and was based on the Renault 8. It had a 956cc 4-cylinder engine at the rear and lightweight body shell made of FRP. Front suspension featured the independent double wishbone type, while the rear used swing arms. The A110 proved its ability by dominating road races held throughout the late 60's and early 70's, with its win at the 1971 Monte Carlo Rally undoubtedly crowning the pinnacle of its career. With its successful record and beautiful design, the Alpine A110 is adored by motor sports fans worldwide.

Skillful reproduction of the Alpine A110's low and sleek body styling. Overall Length: 161mm. Exquisitely designed decals reproduce the A110's 1971 Monte Carlo Rally markings. Amazingly precise details of car's mechanisms, including rear-mounted inline 4-cylinder engine, front and rear suspension and special rally wheels. Includes dash-mounted odometer and other features specific to the rally version.

Honda's first passenger production car, the S500 open two seater sportscar, was first announced in the 1962 Tokyo Motor Show, going on sale the following year. After the production termination of its successor, the S800, Honda moved away from producing front-engine/rear-wheel drive sports cars. September of 1998 saw the sensational rebirth of this type, with the announcement of the S2000. This open two seater features the traditional sports car look with a puposeful long nose/short deck styling. Futuristic headlights wrap around the side, appearing to be pulled back, poised for speed. The naturally aspirated 2.0 liter inline-4 DOHC-VTEC powerplant pumps out over 250hp, yet still manages to reduce toxic exhaust emissions to 1/10th the level of its predecessors. The positioning of the engine is also ideal, sitting just behind the front wheel axle in interest of 50/50 weight distribution. The sturdy body and superior road handling, meshed with a four-wheel double wishbone suspension and a newly developed 6-speed manual transmission, offer high tractability and synthesis between car and driver. The inside of the cabin features bucket seats, state of the art digital indicators, and a red button for starting the engine. Of course, the impact safe design, air bag, and all the other safety features of modern sports cars have also been thoroughly considered. Developed in celebration of Honda's 50th anniversary, the S2000 will surely take it place as the 2000cc sports car to beat in the 21st century.

Art.Nr.: 300024219 Art.bezeichnung: 1:24 Calsonic Skyline GT-R (R34)

The unrivaled Nissan Skyline GT-R of the 1970's Japanese touring car races valiantly returned to the race circuit in 1990. Equipped with 2.6l, inline 6-cylinder twin turbo engines, two R32 Skyline GT-R's brilliantly triumphed in all six races. Particularly impressive was the bright blue Calsonic Skyline, which achieved five of the six victories to take the series championship. In 1993, the Calsonic Skyline was converted into a GT machine and brought out for the All Japan GT Championships, where it took top honors for three years running. From the middle of the 1995 season, the R33 version of the Skyline GT-R was brought out. The R33 was based on the 4WD production car, but was instead equipped with rear wheel drive. For the 1999 All Japan GT Championships, Nissan brought out a new machine, the R34. Compared to its predecessor, the R33, the R34 was constructed more compactly, with a narrow wheelbase. It was developed to take advantage of the reinforced chassis used on the production model brought out in January of that year. Except for the roof, the body was completely remade in carbon fiber and equipped with a large, curved wing on the rear- just one example of its aerodynamic and stylish form. Undergoing constant improvements since 1990, the inline, 6-cylinder DOHC twin turbo engine of the R34 is maximized with a 6-speed sequential transmission and rear wheel drive. The latest incarnation of the Skyline GT-R, the R34, promises to add more GT Championship Titles to Nissan's illustrious racing history.

About the Nissan R390 GT1

One of the most prestigious and grueling racing events held in the world is the "Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance Race". It has brought excitement and pleasure to motorsports enthusiasts worldwide, ever since it was first held in 1923. In 1997 Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Entered their latest Nissan R390 GT1 which was developed to vie for this renowned racing event.

The R390 GT1 took its name from a car, R380, that excited Japanese motor sports enthusiasts over thirty years ago. Jointly developed by Nissan and TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing), the R390 GT1 is the state of the art racing expertise of them. Aerodynamically refined low and sleek body styling is suggestive of Nissan's highly competitive Gr. C machines raced during the 1980's. The 3.5 liter V8 engine, producing an awesome 600 horsepower output, is bolted directly to the carbon composite monocoque and works as a load-carrying element. The tremendous power is delivered to the rear wheels via a transversely mounted, six speed transmission. The four wheel double wishbone suspension system is connected to the horizontally mounted shock absorbers via pushrods and bell cranks to provide optimum road handling performance.

Three R390 GT1's were entered in to the 1997 Le Mans event and, among them, the car No. 21 achieved a pole position in the pre-qualifying race. Although the overall result was rather discouraging, the R390's outstanding performance, displayed during the early stage of the race, was something to behold and promising for the year to come.

During the early 1970's, the Toyota Motor Company of Japan ventured into the specialty car field, and soon established a reputation for producing cars with both quality and performance. Their "Supra" series is often described as a re-creation of Toyota's legendary 2000GT sports car, which was an excellent combination of high performance and elegance.

Using their latest racing automotive technology, plus their uncanny design genius, the newly designed Supra made its sensational debut during February 1993. Massive and powerful are the words that can best describe this awesome specialty sports car. The top of the line Supra uses a 3-Liter, DOHC 24 valve, straight six cylinder, twin-turbocharged engine, capable of 320 horsepower and 43.6kg/m of torque. In contrast with the company's previous Supra model, which had a very fluid styling composed of gentle curves, the new Supra has a bold dramatic appearance due to its wider body and larger 17-inch wheels. An oversized rear wing has been installed to improve downforce performance during high-speed cruising. This Supra's newly refined suspension has one of the best road holding systems offered by any mass produced sports car, and with its ventilated disk brakes fitted at all corners, and the front end utilizing four piston calipers, it has unmatched stopping power.

Toyota's Supra is this company's attempt to furnish a car that has uncompromised drivability, safety, high performance and relaxing comfort.

The Porsche 959 was first unveiled at the 1983 Frankfurt auto show as a study for a full time 4 wheel drive Group B super sports car. Back then, the automobile was still far from being completed and its potential a mystery. The 959's awesome capabilities matured through thorough research and competition experience with the automobile. It demonstrated its outstanding abilities during the grueling Paris-Dakar Rally, and the Le Mans 24 hour endurance race.

Porsche has taken their race car technology and put it into the 959, to produce a car that provides every comfort, with smooth running and the low interior noise expected of a road car, while offering high safety reserves. Thus the 959, despite its massive 450hp engine power, can be drive easily at its lower RPM ranges. The 2848cc engine is a descendent of the famous 956 and 962 Porsche Group C racer. It is an air/liquid cooled, flat 6 cylinder, DOHC equipped with two turbochargers, providing a top speed of more than 300km/h. The 959 maintains superb acceleration under all driving conditions, yet it also achieves short braking distances that prove to be a reassuring factor for all classes of drivers. The hollow wheel spokes increase air volume to the brakes and accommodate the fat, low profile Dunlop Denloc tires, and is equipped with a pressure sensor to detect punctures.

The Porsche 959 is the car that raised the standard of sports car thinking to a new plateau, by exceeding every known yardstick of handling and performance.
