1:35 Zimmerit Coating Applicator PE, model tool

The 1:35 Zimmerit Coating Applicator PE is a dedicated model tool for recreating the distinctive anti-magnetic paste pattern seen on German tanks during WWII. Its photo-etched blades are intended for use with Tamiya Polyester Putty, allowing the coating to be drawn across armor panels in measured, repeatable strokes that look closer to the full-size surface treatment. The set provides 4 blade sizes so different panel widths can be handled with a more suitable edge. Broad sections of a hull side and narrower areas around smaller details call for different spacing, and the separate blade profiles help keep the texture in scale across the build. The PE construction gives each blade a thin working edge suited to pressing a regular pattern into putty. Assembly is required, and the stated assembly time is 600 minutes. On a 1:35 tank build, the applicator fits naturally into the finishing stage once the main structure is complete and surface work begins. It supports historically focused armor projects where the coating pattern is part of the vehicle's character, whether the goal is a factory-applied look or a more field-worn finish shaped by careful putty application.
