1:14 Volvo FH16 Tow Truck, RC model kit, 8x4

The 1:14 Volvo FH16 Tow Truck model kit brings a heavy recovery truck format to the workbench with an 8x4 chassis, 4 axles and a steerable double front axle. At 750 mm long, 195 mm wide and 300 mm high, the finished truck has the long, purposeful stance of a full-size tow vehicle, with silver pre-painted cab parts that give the bodywork a clean, uniform finish early in the build. The construction combines an ABS body with an aluminium ladder frame and detailed running gear. Power comes from a front-mounted 540 electric motor and reaches the 2 rear drive axles through a metal cardan shaft, while 2 differentials support smoother cornering. Detailed metal leaf springs and friction dampers shape the suspension layout, and the 3-speed manual transmission can be controlled through suitable radio equipment. The rear crane structure is built with many metal parts, and turnbuckles with chains are supplied for load securing detail. Radio gear, a battery pack, a charger and a servo are required separately. An optional ACU unit is required separately for crane movement. Photo-etched radiator grille parts, chrome rims and the visible cab interior add scale character across display and running sessions. The permanently bolted driver's cab leaves space behind the seats for installation of a multifunction unit, keeping the interior visible while supporting an expanded electronics layout. The tow truck can pick up and tow 1:14 scale model trucks, opening up recovery scenes, depot setups and convoy support runs.
