Art.Nr.: 30035366 Art.bezeichnung: 1:35 Brit. M10 IIC Achilles

Here is the British Achilles tank destroyer, which appears in Tamiya 1/35 scale for the first time! The Achilles was a modification of the M10s which Britain received from the U.S., with the original 3-inch main gun replaced by the fearsome British 17 pounder. The vast majority of M10s were the M10 IIC variant, which was based upon the late-production M10 with distinctive enlarged turret-rear counterweight. Around 1,000 were produced between Spring 1944 and the end of WWII, the Allied forces making good use of it after the Normandy landings, benefiting from the power of the gun which allowed it to tear through Tiger I front armor.

- This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit.
- In-depth study of the real thing has enabled this highly accurate scale depiction of the Achilles.
- Features newly-molded parts depicting the upper hull with its sloped armor, late production M10 turret counterweight, and long 17pdr gun.
- Interior features excellent detail, including depictions of shell racks and multi-part 17pdr gun breech.

plus a driver torso figure. All are brand new!
- Lower hull, suspension, wheel and track parts are carried over from the acclaimed Tamiya 1/35 model of the M10 that served as the Achilles’ base.
- New sprocket wheel parts depict late M10 components.

1:35 Rus. Panzer SU-122

Art.-Nr.: 300035093

Art.Nr.: 300035093 Art.bezeichnung: 1:35 Rus. Panzer SU-122

The Russian T34 tank is known as a masterpiece. Based on the same chassis, the SU-122 featured a secured, wedge-shape fighting compartment, and was armed with a massive 122mm howitzer. The designation of SU-122 comes from the following; "SU" stands for Samokhodnaya Ustanovka (in Russian) meaning self-propelled and "122" stands for the armament. As Russian forces were forced to retreat from the relentless German blitzkrieg, large quantities of T34 and other tanks were produced in preparation of a counter attack. At the same time, Russian army urgently developed a new self-propelled gun, the SU-122. This tank featured a newly designed 122mm self-propelled howitzer and its production began in October 1942 at Tankograd in the Ural mountains. As the T34's chassis and its mass production system were applied to SU-122, the first test models were amazingly completed with great speed taking approximately one month. From there, the first lot of SU-122s were sent straight to the Leningrad front in January 1943. From July 1943, they saw action in the Battle of Kursk. The SU-122 with its 23 caliber 122mm howitzer fought with all its might against Panther and Tiger tanks and went on to superbly win a glorious victory. In following the success at Kursk, the SU-122 set the foundation on where other tanks such as the SU-85, SU-100, JSU-122, and JSU-152 were built upon. Modelers will enjoy recreating the powerful form of the SU-122 including its wedge-shaped form, 122mm howitzer, large gun base, and recoil tow-cover which now comes as a 1/35 scale model. This model was first released in 1977.

1:35 Rus. Jagdpanzer SU-85 (1)

Art.-Nr.: 300035072

Art.Nr.: 300035072 Art.bezeichnung: 1:35 Rus. Jagdpanzer SU-85 (1)

At the beginning of the German Blitzkrieg on the Eastern Front, Russian soldiers were forced to fight hard against the invading Axis forces led by the impressive German Sturmgeschutz III. Barely holding back the advancing German forces just before Moscow, the Russian military quickly began to design assault guns. From these designs, the first finished model came loaded on the T-34 chassis with a secured fighting compartment and was armed with an impressive 122mm howitzer. This tank was given the designation SU-122. Introduced at the Battle of Kursk in 1943, was the newly designed SU-85 which was based on the successful SU-122. It came armed with the D-5S-85A, the 1939 anti-aircraft 51.5 caliber 85mm D-5 gun which was redesigned for anti-tank use. D-5 guns were developed in the same manner as German 88mm anti-tank guns equipped on German Tiger I and Jagdpanther tanks, as both guns were based on anti-aircraft guns. The SU-85's armor-piercing shell weighed 9.02kg, had a velocity of 792m/s, and could knock out tanks with 100mm thick armor at 1000m. The SU-85s hull featured a sloped front armor with the fighting compartment offset to the right. After the liberation of Kiev in December 1943, the SU-85 faced off Panther and Jagdtiger tanks and held its own thanks to its 85mm gun. The sharp style of the SU-85 with its long gun now comes reproduced as a 1/35 scale model. This kit was first released in 1975. スペース

1:35 WWII Brit.Mtl.Pz. M3 Grant Mk.I (1)

Art.-Nr.: 300035041

Art.Nr.: 300035041 Art.bezeichnung: 1:35 WWII Brit.Mtl.Pz. M3 Grant Mk.I

Tamiya is pleased to announce the re-release of this model, which first joined the Military Miniature Series lineup back in 1974. The kit depicts the M-3 Grant Mk.I, a British variant of the U.S. medium tank M3 Lee. The M3 Lee had been provided by the U.S. after a large portion of British armor was lost to the Germans in the midst of the Dunkirk evacuations. While M3 Grants featured no alterations to the hull and sponson-mounted 75mm main gun, the British variant had a larger turret for the 37mm gun, and did not feature a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun. The M3 had been designed with priority given to speed of delivery to waiting troops; thus, it possessed some limitations such as the restricted horizontal movement of the main gun and a tall silhouette that was easy for opposing forces to spot. However, it proved a welcome addition for the tank-poor British forces in North Africa, where it helped to turn around a dire situation, knocking out opposing Panzer III and IVs one at a time.

About the Model

• This is a 1/35 scale model assembly kit. Length: 170mm.
• The distinctive form of the M3 Grant with British spec turret is accurately captured.
• Riveted armor panels surfaces are depicted.
• Features moving recreations of the 75mm and 37mm guns.
• The model can be assembled with hatches in open or closed position.
• 2 marking options are included, depicting units from Battle of El Alamein and Battle of Gazala.
• Comes with a figure in realistic pose.

1:48 WWII US Lt.Spähpanz.M8 Greyhound(1)

Art.-Nr.: 300032551

Art.Nr.: 300032551 Art.bezeichnung: 1:48 WWII US Light Tank M8 Greyhound (1)

The release of this armored car as part of Tamiya's 1/48 MM series opens up many opportunities for modellers. Its long service history with many different armed forces around the world means this model can be placed in a large variety of diorama settings.

About the M8 Greyhound

Originally designed to meet a requirement for a fast tank destroyer, the M8 was a lightly armored 6X6 vehicle armed with a 37mm main gun and coaxial 30 caliber machine gun in its open turret, and a 50 caliber machine gun on a flexible mount. Newer tank designs soon made the 37mm gun obsolete as an anti-tank weapon, but the vehicle's speed was useful for reconnaissance duties so it was used primarily in that role by the Allied forces in WWII. The M8 then went on to serve in the Korean conflict and French Indochina, and updated versions can still be found in service today in a few corners of the world.

About the Model

1/48 scale assembly kit of the U.S. M8 Light Armored Car Greyhound. A number of pre-sculpted parts help recreate the complex suspension system while keeping the number of parts down for ease of assembly. Open top turret allows viewing of internal details such as the main gun breech. Parts of the chassis are made from die-cast metal, giving the model a realistic sense of volume. 1 figure and 2 sets of markings are included. Perfect for posing together with other 1/48 U.S. AFVs and figure sets.
