Anniversary Model
In December 1976, TAMIYA Japan introduced its first RC model to the
public. This model was a Porsche 934 in the Vaillant Edition, laying the foundation for an entire industry.
To mark this anniversary in 2026, Tamiya has developed a unique chassis
for kit 47524. This kit is a limited edition and a true highlight for collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
On this new chassis, the motor is positioned mid-rear, driving the rear
wheels just like the original vehicle. Collectors will be pleased to
hear that magnetic body mounts (which require no body holes) are
included! This means no holes need to be drilled into the polycarbonate
body for display models. Should you still wish to drive the model, standard body mounts with clips are also included in the kit.
Each kit comes with a numbered plaque.
Chassis Details:
Motor Position
The motor is positioned centrally and longitudinally to align the
chassis layout with the original vehicle. The power transmission flows
as follows: Pinion A → Spur Gear → Propeller Shaft → Pinion B → Spur Gear → Differential.
The spur gears are new (66 teeth) and all gears use 0.4 module. The
differential is the same as used in the TB-05 chassis. The gear ratio
can be adjusted by swapping pinions A and B. The gear mounts are constructed from aluminum.
Rear Trailing Arms
Just like the original vehicle, trailing arms are used on the rear axle.
These trailing arms are made of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic to ensure high rigidity.
Fiberglass-Reinforced Plastic Lower Deck
The lower deck, featuring an integrated main and rear frame, is manufactured from fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP).
Standard Wheelbase: 230mm
The rear configuration of the lower deck can be modified to change the
wheelbase to 251mm (using a double-wishbone rear suspension). Note: A
separately available body is required for the 251mm wheelbase.
Design Features Inspired by the Original Vehicle:
Motor guard shaped like an exhaust system
Patterning on the underside of the chassis
Mount design similar to an intercooler
Provision for a separately available cooling fan above the motor, mimicking the original vehicle's fan duct
Body Mounting:
The body can be attached either with traditional holes (for driving) or with magnets and metal parts (for display purposes).
Required Accessories:
Remote control system (Transmitter/Receiver), steering servo, 7.2V NiMH battery pack, charger, etc.
