The R34 was the 5th generation of the legendary Nissan GT-R series of cars; it debuted at the 2005 Tokyo Auto Salon. The Z-Tune version was an even more impressive beast; developed by Nissan's in-house motorsports/ performance division NISMO, it was built around a 500hp 2.8-liter powerplant that could reach 8,000rpm. It also featured SACHS adjustable suspension and brakes developed in conjunction with Brembo. NISMO also went to work on the body, with racing features such as vents and wider fenders than the original. The body color was the aptly-named Z-Tune Silver, applied specially for this car. With only 20 production cars made, getting your hands on one is a difficult task, but you can pilot it in R/C form with this model! The fourth full-option kit to make its appearance is the German Heavy Tank King Tiger. Not only can the model move forward and backward and turn with a great sense of power, but the turret can be rotated and the 88mm gun raised and lowered. To imitate the firing of the main gun and of front machine gun, light flashes while sound is heard. The sound of the engine has been recorded, with the assistance of the French museum of Saumur, from a real Maybach HL230-P30 engine of the only King Tiger kept in working condition in the world. Not only all stages of engine sound (idling through full throttle) but also all the metallic clanking of the tank tracks have been thoroughly recorded. During the second half of WWII, Zimmerit coating was applied on German tanks to protect them from the threat of magnetic mines. For this kit, the Zimmerit coating has been replicated with a unique relief printed seal. Thanks to this seal, you can now represent accurately a late war King Tiger with great ease. About the German King Tiger (Henschel Turret) The German Heavy Tank King Tiger made its appearance during WWII in 1944. The chassis front armor was 150mm thick with 80mm thick side armor and powered by a 700hp Maybach HL230-P30 engine. The Henschel and Porsche companies came up with rival turret prototypes. The first 50 tanks produced had Porsche turret whereas subsequent tanks were equipped with the Henschel designed production turret that featured many improvements over the first model. The King Tiger was armed with a 71-caliber 88mm gun that had enough power to pierce 150mm thick armor from 2000m away. Between The beginning of production in Summer 1944 and March 1945, 440 units were completed. Due to the havoc wreaked by the King Tiger during the final German offensive on the Ardennes front in December of 1944, the Allied forces that moved in on Berlin would fear the King Tiger up until the very last day of the war. 2 Types of Engine Starting Sounds Besides using electric motor starter in general conditions, the King Tiger's engine was started using a crank starter on cold days to save batteries power. This model realistically replicates both of these procedures. When switching on transmitter first, the crank starting sound is heard, but when you switch on the receiver first, electric motor starting sound is heard. You can now feel like you are part of the tank crew as you decide which procedure to follow based on temperature conditions. The front-mounted gearbox contains two Type 380 motors that can operate together or individually to produce forward/reverse running and pivot turning. Metal torsion bars and suspension arms combine with the wide tracks to smoothly absorb bumps and dips in the terrain and provide high maneuverability. In addition, realistic engine sounds accompany the tank as it starts up, drives, and stops to idle. Hull-mounted main gun can be elevated, depressed, and swung to the left and right.

It runs on the easy-assembly shaft-driven 4WD TT-02B, and marries the chassis' controllability with square spike tires for superior grip on rough surfaces. This off-road veteran is back with new features to scorch your rivals! The shaft-driven 4WD TT-02B buggy chassis uses a skid-shaped frame. Its suspension setup uses 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension with long arms, plus CVA shock units, giving the car assured handling, while L/R suspension arms and uprights are identical to facilitate hassle-free assembly. F/R gearboxes include 4-bevel differentials for smooth operation, and are sealed to ensure that dust can't get inside. The top can be removed simply by loosening 4 screws, making maintenance a breeze. 4 different gear ratios can be applied with the use of 3 separately-sold types of pinion gears, allowing you to match the characteristics of your car setup to the conditions at any given time. Of course, this off-road chassis also includes receiver case and motor cover to protect them from dirt and debris thrown up off of the track. Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.

RC model making – what are RC models?
RC models (remote-controlled models) are designed based on original vehicles and controlled by a remote control. They are typically available in scales ranging from 1:8 to 1:36, although a small number of models are significantly larger or smaller. Unlike preassembled vehicles, our models are shipped as kits with assembly instructions – perfect for model making enthusiasts!
RC kits – model making kits for DIY assembly
RC model kits are shipped as individual parts, which must be assembled by the user in accordance with the supplied instructions – a fun experience in itself. What’s more, building an RC vehicle is also a great way to learn about the various components, such as the principles behind a differential and all-wheel drive, or the difference between a suspension strut and an oil-pressure shock absorber.
How do RC models work?
In simple terms, RC models are controlled via a transmitter in the remote control and a built-in receiver in the model. On a technical level, this involves the following processes:
- The position of the control components on the remote control is converted into a PWM (pulse-width modulation) signal.
- This signal is transmitted to the built-in receiver in the vehicle over a high frequency (2.4 GHz).
- The receiver receives and filters the control signals.
- The control signals are sent to the speed controller and steering servo, where they are converted into mechanical movements.
The signals for the steering servo result in a steering movement, while the speed controller signals determine the direction and speed of the motor. For precise control, it’s best to choose a remote control with proportional steering.
What must I pay attention to when selecting an RC model?
There are two key factors to consider before purchasing an RC model kit:
Intended application
First of all, you should consider where you will use the remote-controlled vehicle. Different RC models are designed for different types of terrain – for example, classic racing vehicles are best used on level surfaces, whereas taller off-road vehicles with large tyres can also be used off-road.
Accessories and package contents
Before purchasing a remote-controlled vehicle, it’s always advisable to check the package contents so that you know what’s included and whether you need to purchase any additional accessories. For example, most TAMIYA RC models do not include batteries and are shipped without a receiver, servo and remote control. What is an RTR model?
The abbreviation “RTR” (sometimes written as RtR”) refers to models that are “ready to run”, or ready to use out of the box. In other words, they don’t need to be assembled, and can be used immediately after inserting the batteries or charging the built-in battery.
