In addition to the highly modified Japanese cars, the super cars of Europe, like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche, vie for the title. During the 1995 season Toyota entered a fleet of their race tuned Supra GT's into this popular event. Packed into the Supra look alike body shell was Toyota's latest racing technology. A 2,140cc, 4-cylinder turbocharged powerplant was taken from Toyota's Eagle Mk.III racing machine, which was active during the '93 IMSA races in the U.S.A. The X-Trac developed sequential 6-speed gearbox efficiently transmitted this engine's awesome power to the rear wheels. Four wheel double wishbone suspension components were taken from another Toyota prototype racer, the TS010. The body shell was extensively modified to obtain even better aerodynamics. Additional air intakes and outlets, oversized fenders and a huge rear spoiler, gave its massive silhouette and even more aggressive appearance. Four different racing teams used the Supra during the '95 season and among them, Tom's was sponsored by Castrol. (The first generation Dax in 1969 was recreated by Item 16002.) Following on from the popular Monkey (Z-series) bikes, the Honda minibike Dax was announced in 1969. The Dax had a distinctive T-bone frame crafted in pressed steel which housed the fuel tank, and centrifugal clutch engine. It was designed to be ridden by anyone, anywhere, and its charming, distinctive form was loved all around the world. Although its Japanese sales finished in 1981, the Dax returned in 1995 with a similar design to the original. In 2022, Honda announced the Dax125 which inherits the established Dax identity, incorporating elements such as the T-bone frame, a long bench seat, a chrome upswept muffler and more. It can be ridden both on city streets and the open road. Owners can choose between the rich tone of pearl nebula red and understated yet elegant pearl cadet gray for the body. This Dax125 has a limited edition: the Dax 125 Tamiya Limited Edition - the idea of official Honda dealer Cub House in Thailand - which was announced at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show. Tamiya presents an updated new edition of the model 24014 Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo in 1:24 scale with new Cartograf decals, updated assembly instructions and packaging. The German Racing Championship (DRM) comprised two classes with displacements of 2,000 cm³ and more and under 2,000 cm³. The Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo was a vehicle that challenged the BMW 320 Turbo. It made its debut at the eighth DRM round in Hockenheim in the summer of 1978 and was characterized by an extremely low front end, a wide body and eye-catching red and yellow markings on a black background. This car regularly raced in the leading group and took its first victory in the spring race at the Nürburgring in October 1978. That well-balanced machine was equipped with a powerful horizontally opposed 4 cylinder turbo engine, and secured that year's Manufacturers Title. In the following years, various improvements were made to the car in accordance with changes in the production model. The 2001 Impreza adopted a four-door sedan body and first showed itself at the season opener, the Monte Carlo Rally. The unique appearance of the car was highlighted by small compound headlights, spoiler attached to the extreme rear and blister-style fenders. The engine underwent extensive tuning in an effort to boost responsiveness, and major progress was made in regards to electronic control of the semi-automatic transmission and front, center, and rear differential gearing. The Toyota Celica LB Turbo was a Group 5 car developed for the 1977 DRM (German Racing Championship). Based upon the road car Celica Liftback, the car featured aerodynamic components such as bulging over fenders and rear wing, and employed numerous FRP body panels. An extensively modified body and 2,090cc, 560hp inline-4 DOHC turbo engine were utilized. When the newer 106mm recoilless rifle came into being, it replaced the 105. This weapons system was mounted in the rear part of the Jeep, but could be also dismounted on a tri-pod for fixed use. As the old jeep became replaced with the newer M151 Ford MUTT, the 106 was also adapted to it. When the M151A2 was released during the late 70's, the model with the 106 rifle mounted was called M825. It had a beefed up rear suspension system to accept the rifles added weight of 325kg. Shortly the TOW missile system replaced the 106 recoiless rifles, as the main anti-tank mobile weapons system. Development of the TOW system began in the 1960's as a replacement for the large and heavy recoilless rifles. It was combat tested during the Vietnam conflict and proved its power and accuracy. It was further improved and finally replaced most of the 106's still in service. Officially it is called the BGM-71A; however, it is most widely called the TOW missile system which stands for Tube launched, Optically tracked, Wire guided, missile system. When the missile is fired at a target, the shooter maintains the target in the cross hairs of the sight. The infrared rays of the missile exhaust are sensed by the optical sight and the computer compensated for the speed of the target and missile, guiding it via the wire trailing back to the vehicle. A far greater percentage of hits are recorded with this system, and it is easier to operate. Maximum range for shooting is 3750m which is much greater than the 1097m effective range of the 106. Article number: 300014006 Product 1:12 Honda CB 750F The Honda CB750F Motorcycle appeared on the Japanese market in June 1979 and was shortly to become the best seller in the 750 class. Just ten years prior to their 750F release, Honda opened up the field of multicylinder bikes with their now famous four cylinder CB750. Honda had won several Grand Prix motorcycle races with multi-cylinder bikes, and the CB750 was based upon these experiences. The engines worked flawlessly and provided very smooth power, and so shocked the industry that shortly many of the famous makers produced four cylinder large cubic motorcycles. Honda, of course, held the number one position in sales for many years, but then Kawasaki released their "Z" series DOHC 4 cylinder 750 bikes, and took over the number one position, relegating Honda to 2nd place. Honda, however, did not take this set back for long, and continued to improve their engines, and in 1979 released a CB750K DOHC with four valves per cylinder, a powerful 68hp, and new body styling. It was not long before Honda was again number one! The CB750F, released in June 1979 was styled after the very popular European Honda CB900F which had been copied from their racing RCB bike. This styling was new to stock motorcycles in the world. With the low positioned handle bars and rear positioned foot rests, allowed a "slouched" riding position. The style is setting the standard for the eighties. The CB750F is powered by a 4 cylinder DOHC 748cc engine with 4 valves per cylinder, and the 1981 version produces 70 brake horsepower. The bike has a double cradle frame of welded steel tubing, semi-air front suspension system, and FQV damped rear coils. Braking utilizes the dual piston caliper system, with dual discs in front and a single disc at the rear. A newly designed racing type front fender with spoiler has proved to be very popular among the bike enthusiasts. The overall styling of that unveiled in 1979, with the smooth flowing lines from tank to tail light have been retained, and it is likely that this fine motorcycle will stay at the forefront of sales for years to come.
