PS-51 Purple Anodized Effect, spray paint, 100 ml

PS-51 Purple Anodized Effect brings a metallic spray finish to polycarbonate model parts with a colour developed specifically for that material. The 100 ml aerosol format supports controlled coverage on clear bodyshell sections, where the final tone builds through the painted layer and the backing colour behind it. This shade is intended for polycarbonate use rather than general craft painting, which matters on RC shells and similar formed parts that flex in use. The anodized-style purple effect gives body panels a more technical, machined look than a flat solid colour. Because the paint is applied to clear polycarbonate, the backing coat influences the visible result. For PS-51, Tamiya recommends PS-5 black, which deepens the finish and helps the colour read with more visual depth through the shell. The can suits hobby bench work focused on body customisation, repainting selected sections or finishing a fresh shell before decals and final assembly. On race-inspired bodies, the colour works well for full-body coverage, accent areas or layered paint schemes where a darker backing is part of the planned result.
