PS-38 Translucent Blue, polycarbonate spray paint

PS-38 Translucent Blue is a polycarbonate spray paint created for model body finishing where colour needs to stay transparent rather than cover solidly. The translucent blue tone lets the shell lines, moulded contours and cut body shape remain visible, which suits RC bodyshell work that relies on layered colour and light passing through the painted surface. The can contains 100 ml and is intended for spray application on polycarbonate parts. Within the PS paint range, this shade sits alongside PS-37 to PS-40, and Tamiya specifically recommends backing these colours with PS-41 Light Silver. That backing step changes how the translucent layer reads on the shell, giving the finished colour more presence while keeping the transparent character of the paint. This makes PS-38 useful for full body coverage, tinted sections or accent areas where a clear colour effect is part of the final look. On the bench, PS-38 fits naturally into custom RC body painting, whether the aim is a single-colour shell or a layered scheme with masked sections and backing coats. It also works well when a bodyshell needs a blue transparent tone that still shows the form of the polycarbonate underneath, especially on curved panels, roof sections and flowing side lines.
