Sanding Sponge Sheet 180, model sanding sheet

The Sanding Sponge Sheet 180 brings controlled abrasion to model finishing with an aluminum oxide surface bonded to a flexible 5 mm sponge base. That combination helps the sheet sit evenly on shaped parts while smoothing protrusions, seam lines and other raised areas that can interrupt a clean finish on plastic models. At 114 x 140 mm, the sheet offers enough area for broad passes across larger sections, yet it can also be trimmed with a modeling knife into smaller pieces for narrow edges, corners and localized correction. The sponge backing compresses slightly during use, which helps the abrasive stay in contact across curved surfaces instead of only touching the highest points. Beyond plastic models, the abrasive surface is also suited to finishing work on wood and metal, giving the sheet a clear role across different stages of bench work. The 180 grit sits in the more assertive end of the range for material removal and early surface preparation. On a workbench, that makes the sheet useful for refining body parts, shaped accessories and other detailed components before painting or further finishing steps. Wet sanding compatibility adds a second working method for jobs where a cleaner surface and closer control of residue are preferred.
