The Sanding Sponge Sheet 400 brings controlled abrasion and a flexible backing to model finishing work, combining 400 grit cutting action with a sponge base that follows curves, edges and narrow round parts more naturally than a rigid sheet. In the hand, the surface can wrap around tubes, rods and shaped sections, making it easier to keep contact where flat abrasives tend to miss high and low spots. That flexible structure is especially useful during shaping, seam cleanup and surface preparation on parts with changing contours. The sheet can be trimmed into smaller sections for detail work on confined areas, which helps reserve a larger piece for broader passes on panels or formed components. The sponge layer also cushions pressure during sanding, giving more control when refining small parts and reducing the abrupt feel of a hard backing on delicate geometry. On the bench, this grade fits early to mid-stage finishing tasks where visible marks, edges or uneven joins still need material removed before moving on to finer abrasives. It suits hand sanding during model assembly, part cleanup and general hobby work, especially when cylindrical or curved pieces need a sanding surface that can bend with the shape instead of fighting it.
