2000 Sanding Sponge Sheet, model finishing sheet

The 2000 Sanding Sponge Sheet combines a fine aluminum oxide abrasive with a 5 mm flexible sponge base, giving model finishing work a controlled feel on shaped parts and delicate surface areas. On plastic models, the sheet is suited to removing small protrusions while keeping contact more even across contours, where a rigid abrasive can skip or dig in. Its flexible backing bends around curved surfaces and settles into harder-to-reach corners, which helps when refining sculpted folds, rounded panels or tight edges. The 114 x 140 mm format leaves enough area for broad passes, yet the sheet can also be cut with a modeling knife into smaller sections for narrow parts, touch-up work or repeated use at the bench. Wet sanding compatibility adds another handling option when a cleaner sanding process or a finer finish is needed. Beyond plastic models, the same sheet can be used on wood and metal finishing materials, which makes it useful across different stages of a build or restoration project. It fits naturally into surface preparation before primer, smoothing after seam cleanup, and final refinement before paint or detail finishing, especially where curved shapes call for a sanding surface that can flex with the part.
