1:100 Space Shuttle Atlantis, plastic assembly kit

This 1:100 Space Shuttle Atlantis plastic assembly kit brings the NASA orbiter into a detailed scale build with a configuration based on the final Atlantis mission in July 2011. The finished shuttle can be shown with the payload bay open, creating a strong orbital display image with visible mission hardware inside the cargo section. Newly designed parts allow the build to represent equipment carried on that last flight, including the Raffaello Multipurpose Logistics Module, the Orbiter Docking System, the Lightweight Multipurpose Experiment Support Structure Carrier and the Orbiter Boom Sensor System. The payload bay doors open, and the detachable MPLM can be placed in the bay to show the shuttle in a loaded mission setup. Main engine nozzles are movable, adding another mechanical detail to the completed orbiter. Markings also support alternate finishes for Discovery and Endeavour, expanding the finishing options within the same 1:100 scale kit. A display stand is included for ground or in-flight presentation, and 2 astronaut figures add extra scale reference around the completed shuttle. Assembly time is stated as 600 minutes. Cement, paint and tools are required separately.
