1:32 North American P-51D Mustang, aircraft model kit

This 1:32 North American P-51D Mustang assembly model kit brings one of the best-known WWII fighter aircraft into a large display scale, with a fuselage length of 308 mm and a wingspan of 354 mm. The shape is reproduced from actual design drawings and close study of surviving aircraft, giving the finished model the distinctive canopy, nose and wing profile associated with the P-51D. The kit supports more than one configuration of the aircraft. Parts are provided for early-production and late-production P-51D versions, including 2 tail sections with or without dorsal fin, 3 canopy types, 4 rearview mirror styles, 2 instrument panels, 2 seat types and 2 engine exhaust options. A set of photo-etched parts covers details such as seat harnesses and the oil cooler. Landing gear can be built in retracted or deployed positions, and the tires are molded in solid rubber with tread detail. A display stand is included for an in-flight presentation, alongside 2 pilot figures, 1 seated and 1 standing. The finished aircraft can be displayed on its stand in a flight pose or set down with the landing gear extended for a parked-aircraft look. Three decal marking options are included for the 334th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, the 487th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group, and the 79th Fighter Squadron, 20th Fighter Group, with 2 types of drop tanks to complete the chosen build. Paints are required separately.
