1:72 Vought F4U-1D Corsair, plastic model kit

The 1:72 Vought F4U-1D Corsair brings a famous carrier-based fighter into a compact plastic model kit with the aircraft's distinctive inverted gull wing, long nose and clear-vision canopy. At 173 mm wingspan and 141 mm fuselage length, the finished aircraft has a display-friendly footprint while still leaving room for cockpit, engine and external equipment detail. This assembly kit is based on the F4U-1D version, the later Corsair variant that introduced improved visibility and underwing stores for bombs, napalm or 5 inch rockets. The build covers the cockpit interior, pilot seat, fuselage, wing assembly, engine cowling, propeller and main landing gear in separate stages. The instructions also show optional open or closed cowl flap configuration, optional drop tanks, and version-specific canopy parts. Decal and marking guides support 3 aircraft finishes: VF-84 No.167 from Bunker Hill, VMF-112 No.1 from Bennington, and VMF-312 No.530 from Okinawa in 1945. The result suits model builders drawn to World War II naval aviation, historical markings and compact aircraft subjects. Cement, tools and paints are required separately. With a stated assembly time of 600 minutes, the kit offers a longer bench project that moves from interior detail work to final markings and underwing equipment.
