Product information
The 1/32 Spitfire Mk. Ixc model kit brings one of the most recognized WWII fighters to the workbench in a scale that gives the aircraft real visual presence. Based on the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX, this assembly kit captures the version developed in response to the German Fw190A, when the earlier Mk. V needed stronger performance in combat. The subject connects the finished aircraft to RAF service and to the wider air war over Europe. A key part of that history was the Merlin Series 60/70 engine with a two-stage supercharger, introduced to improve performance and restore parity in battle. The kit also reflects the C universal wing associated with the most common Spitfire configuration, known for armament flexibility with 20 mm cannons and 7.7 mm machine guns. Reference material shown for the model depicts RAF camouflage, roundels, squadron code JE-J and serial EN398, giving the finished aircraft a specific July 1943 identity linked to Wing Commander J. E. "Johnnie" Johnson at RAF Kenley. Assembly is required, with a stated build time of 600 minutes. On the bench, the larger 1/32 scale supports careful work on paint boundaries, markings and surface finish. During the build, the aircraft moves from historical subject to a detailed display piece with the proportions, wing shape and livery that make the Spitfire instantly recognizable.
