1:48 F-4B Phantom II, aircraft model kit

This 1:48 F-4B Phantom II assembly kit brings the long, low stance of the McDonnell Douglas carrier-based jet into a display scale with real presence. At 370 mm in fuselage length, 104 mm in height and 243.9 mm in wingspan, the finished aircraft fills a shelf or workbench with the unmistakable outline of the early Phantom. The airframe layout is based on research of the actual aircraft, and that shows in the way the complex fuselage and intake areas are broken into manageable sections. The air intake and dust box are combined together for easier setup in this part of the build. A one-piece horizontal stabilizer lets the right and left sides move in concert, adding a functional touch to the finished model. The kit also includes 2 sitting crew figures and 3 marking options, giving the cockpit and exterior more context once painted and decaled. Display choices can be tailored to a parked deck scene or a clean closed-up presentation through the canopy, refueling probe and boarding ladder options. Missiles and the underside drop tank add to the operational silhouette, while the VF-51 markings connect the model to a Vietnam War setting. Cement and paints are required separately.
