The 1:48 Heinkel He162 A-2 Salamander assembly kit brings one of the most distinctive late-war jet aircraft projects to the workbench in a compact display format. With a fuselage length of 205 mm and a wingspan of 149 mm, the finished aircraft shows the short, agile proportions of the original while leaving room for technical features that reward close viewing. The He162 was developed as an inexpensive jet fighter and moved from drawing board to prototype flight in only 3 months. This model reflects that unusual aircraft layout with its engine mounted above the fuselage and its mainly wooden wartime construction represented in scale form. The BMW003 turbojet is a central visual feature, and the kit provides parts for both opened and closed engine bay covers to change the presentation. Tail surfaces are shown with crisp structural definition, and the removable ejector seat adds another layer of cockpit detail alongside the poseable canopy. On a shelf, in a cabinet, or as part of a WWII aviation lineup, the separate engine dolly creates a maintenance-display look beside the aircraft itself. The included pilot figure and 4 marking types support different finishing directions, whether the focus is on a clean parked aircraft, an inspection scene, or a compact historical aircraft display. Cement and paints are required separately.
