1:48 USN Douglas A1-H Skyraider, aircraft model kit

The 1:48 USN Douglas A1-H Skyraider brings a classic U.S. Navy attack aircraft into a build centered on scale presence and recognizable postwar aviation detail. At 248 mm long with a 317 mm wingspan, the finished aircraft has the size to show off its broad wing, single-seat layout and the purposeful proportions that made the Skyraider such a distinctive carrier-based type. The subject traces back to the Douglas design developed to combine torpedo-bomber and dive-bomber roles in one large attack aircraft. This version represents the A-1H designation used after the 1962 redesignation of the earlier AD-6, the most-produced variant in the series. The full-size aircraft used a Wright R3350 radial engine rated at 2,800 horsepower and carried 3 large dive brakes on the fuselage, details that define the character of the original machine and shape the look of the model. U.S. Navy markings, insignia and service details add historical identity to the finished build.
