1:350 Jp. Heavy Cruiser Mogami, scale model kit

The 1:350 Jp. Heavy Cruiser Mogami brings a major Imperial Japanese Navy warship into a display scale that gives the hull form, bridge structure and deck layout room to read clearly on the finished model. The long cruiser profile, red lower hull, grey upper works and wood-look deck create a layered naval appearance that stands out on a shelf or in a fleet display. This assembly kit is based on the Mogami, the lead ship begun at Kure Naval Arsenal under Japan's First Fleet Replenish Program of 1931. The original ship combined 5 triple 15.5 cm gun turrets, 4 triple 61 cm torpedo launchers, 4 twin 12.7 cm gun mounts, 4 twin 25 mm guns and 2 twin 13 mm machine guns within an 8,500-ton displacement limit. Later refits replaced the main battery with 20.3 cm gun turrets and led to reinforcement work including hull strengthening, bridge resizing and crack repairs. That layered service history gives the model a strong historical identity beyond its silhouette alone. On the finished build, the stern aircraft area, catapult rails, crane structures and small floatplanes add a second focal point behind the main gun positions. The result suits careful painting sessions, naval history collections and static display setups where the Mogami can sit alongside other WWII ships in matching scale.
