1:350 Yukikaze, ship model kit, full hull

This 1:350 ship model kit recreates the Japanese destroyer Yukikaze as seen during the 1945 Ten Ichi Go operation, giving the build a specific late-war configuration with the long, lean lines of a Kagero-class warship. At 338 mm in overall length, the finished model has the presence of a substantial display piece while still leaving room for close work on deck fittings, armament and mast detail. The kit supports 2 display approaches: a waterline presentation or a full-hull version, allowing the lower red hull and propellers to become part of the final look when the full display option is chosen. ABS masts are used for added strength in these finer upright sections, and metal chains bring extra definition to anchor detail at the bow. Photo-etched parts are prepared for ladders, radio antennas, radar and other small fittings where thinner material helps the scale appearance. Assembly takes about 600 minutes. Cement and paints are required separately. On the workbench, the movable guns and torpedo launchers add a practical finishing touch because polycaps let these parts rotate after the main construction is complete. Once painted and weathered, the included stand gives the destroyer a clear presentation for a shelf, cabinet or hobby room display alongside other naval subjects from the same scale.
