The USS Bogue was the type ship of the same name class of escort aircraft carriers, which were manufactured from 1942 to 1943 and mainly served as convoy escort ships in the Atlantic. But they were also responsible for the sinking of many German submarines and the Japanese submarine I-52, which was on its way to Germany with a cargo of gold. The unique construction of the Bogue class – a flight deck mounted on a merchant ship – is reproduced in great detail in this 1:700 model. The kit also contains the lifeboats, the anti-aircraft guns (AA) and 16 aircraft of the types Corsair, Avenger, Hellcat and Helldiver.
