- This is a 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit.
- Length: 325mm (excluding front and rear wings), width: 169mm (front
axle width excluding front and rear wheels), height: 46.5mm (excluding body mount).
- Comes with a dedicated carrying case or the TRF104 chassis kit.
Please note that body, front and rear wings, motor, wheels and tires,
R/C equipment, batteries for transmitter, battery pack and charger are sold separately.
Updated front suspension:
- Features plastic upper arms.
- Camber angle is adjustable freely from +1 to -3 degrees (approximate) with 2mm hex wrenches.
- Caster angle is also adjustable at 6, 9 and 12 degrees. (approximate).
(How to adjust caster angle: ① Loosen screws. ② Adjust upper arm mounts. ③ Tighten screws.)
*The TRF 103 chassis offers similar adjustment, but requires changing of camber adjusters.
Updated rear suspension:
- Suspension link and T-bar setup is not used. Instead, ball connectors
are equipped at motor mount front and rear, and suspension roll is placed at the center of the chassis.
- The model centering is controlled by roll springs under rear shaft,
and friction grease on roll dampers at motor mount allow adjustment of roll speed.
- The pitching is controlled by FRP suspension plate flex and a TRF damper.
R/C equipment layout:
Formula chassis can lose rear grip because of unbalanced weight. To
prevent this problem, battery pack, Receiver and servo are positioned at the center of chassis to ensure better rear grip.
Compatible battery packs:
- Compatible with LF1100-6.6V battery packs (middle size). (Not LF2200-7.2V battery packs.)
- The square-shaped battery holder is included for Li-Po battery packs to comply with overseas or open-class regulations.
Motor mount:
Motor mount has parts for adjustment of ground clearance and wheelbase:
5 types of ground clearances are adjustable in 0.8mm steps and two wheelbases can be chosen with a difference of 2.5mm.
*The TRF103 chassis offers similar adjustment.
Steering servo & steering linkage:
- The laid down steering servo is positioned about 30mm backwards
compared to the TRF103 chassis, and ensures a low center of gravity.
- Features a choice of 4 types of steering linkage adjustments over a
range of about 1.8mm length by changing ackerman plate position to keep direct steering.
Rear differential unit:
Rear differential unit is the same as the one used for the TRF103 chassis. Lightweight and durable carbon fiber
shaft limits weight, and ensures compatibility with rubber tires which are relatively heavy.
How to attach rear wing:
- A 2mm thick carbon fiber plate is used to attach rear wing. In this
case, rear wing is connected to Motor mount and it moves along with rear suspension.
- When adding separately sold Item 53596 Aluminum Servo Stays (Short) as
wing mount to attach rear wing, rear wing is connected to suspension
plate and it does not move along with rear suspension. (It remains horizontal even if rear suspension moves.)
Front suspension arms:
- 2.5mm thick carbon fiber front lower suspension arms have two
attachment positions (3mm adjustment for each side) to adjust its width and attach wheels with different offsets.
- If using separately sold Item 54153 (F103 Carbon Reinforced Front
Suspension Arm) and 53119 (RD Special King Pin Set), the width can be changed to the same 200mm width as the TRF 103 chassis.
Motor:
Both brushless and brushed motors can be mounted. Use a kit-included aluminum motor plate to mount brushed
motor.
Bearing:
The following sealed ball bearings are included.
- 1060 Sealed Flanged Ball Bearings (New) x2
- 4 pcs. from Item 42366 (1050 Sealed Ball Bearings (2pcs.))
- 1pc from Item 42377 (1150 Sealed Ball Bearings (2pcs.))
- 1pc from Item 42375 (1280 Sealed Ball Bearings (2pcs.))
