Silicone Oil #500, damper oil, 40 ml bottle

Silicone Oil #500 is a tuning fluid for oil-filled dampers on model vehicles, giving a direct way to change damping feel through viscosity choice. The 40 ml bottle suits regular workshop use, and the green fluid sits in a compact format with a ribbed screw cap and narrow nozzle for measured application during shock service. The #500 grade corresponds to a kinematic viscosity of 500 mm2/s at 25 °C, placing it in the range used when damper action needs a firmer response than lower-number oils. Higher numbers indicate a harder viscosity, so this grade supports deliberate setup steps rather than guesswork. The formula is based on organopolysiloxanes, and the bottle is intended for all types of oil-filled damper. Compared with earlier set bottles in 35 ml and 20 ml sizes, the 40 ml fill gives more capacity for repeated rebuilds, fluid changes and routine maintenance. On the bench, the color-coded bottle helps separate this grade from other viscosities at a glance when several oils are stored together. During servicing, the nozzle shape supports careful filling of shock bodies, whether the task is a full refill before a run or a planned setup change between sessions.
