1:48 US Airfield Fuel Truck, plastic model kit

This 1:48 plastic model kit recreates the U.S. Airfield Fuel Truck, a 2 1/2 ton 6x6 service vehicle used in WWII airfield operations. At about 107 mm long, the finished truck brings a compact military support subject to aircraft displays, vehicle lineups and diorama scenes where ground equipment matters as much as the aircraft itself. The design is based on the U.S. 2.5 Ton 6x6 Cargo Truck and reworked into a fuel-service variant with a large tanker body and dedicated refueling equipment. The build depicts a truck type used by the U.S. Army Air Forces, and the side service section can be shown open to reveal the hose reel area. Vinyl tubing and enameled wire are used for the fuel hose, giving the assembly a more realistic routed look than a fixed solid part. The kit also provides 2 crew figures posed for refueling work, plus 2 marking options for different finishing schemes. On a shelf or in a diorama, the truck fits naturally beside 1:48 aircraft, maintenance scenes and wartime logistics setups. Assembly time is stated as 600 minutes. Paints and cement are required separately.
