1:48 US M5A1 Stuart Light Tank, plastic model kit

This 1:48 plastic model kit recreates the US M5A1 Stuart Light Tank in a compact 94 mm by 48 mm format, bringing the tank's high profile and sloped frontal armor into a build that reads clearly on the workbench and in a finished military display. The proportions are based on extensive research of the actual vehicle, giving the model a grounded, historical look from every angle. The turret carries a 37 mm gun and a 7.62 mm machine gun, while the surface treatment adds welded seam detail and the cast texture of the gun shield. Lower hull parts are shared with the 1:48 U.S. Howitzer Motor Carriage M8, while the front hull, upper hull and turret are newly molded for this version. Two metal weights are built into the model to give the finished tank a heavier feel in the hand. Assembly takes about 600 minutes, and cement and paints are required separately. The included commander torso with binoculars adds a focal point at the open hatch, and the 2 marking choices let the finished tank represent either C-34 CAROL or C-12 CONCRETE of the 3rd Armored Division on the Western Front in July 1944. On a shelf, in a diorama or alongside other 1:48 military subjects, the Stuart's compact dimensions and distinct turret shape make it easy to place in reconnaissance and armored support scenes.
