The original version was released in 1992 under item number 58109, followed by a re-release in 2012 under number 84264. The Nissan R91CP thus fits perfectly into Tamiya's lineup of Group C chassis models: following the Mercedes C11 and the Porsche 956, it is now the third model in the series! The Nissan R91CP is an icon of Japanese motorsport: it was the first Japanese car to win the 24 Hours of Daytona. The drivers at the time were Kazuyoshi Hoshino, Toshio Suzuki, and Masahiro Hasemi. The original vehicle was powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine with a displacement of 3,500 cc. About the TAMIYA Group C Chassis: 2WD Chassis with Direct Drive The chassis features a 2WD rear-wheel-drive system—analogous to TAMIYA's classic Formula chassis designs. Built upon an ABS plastic bathtub frame—augmented by front and rear spaceframes as well as FRP plates—the chassis presents itself as a composite structure. This design provides a highly rigid foundation that optimally supports the sensitive suspension system; the result is precise and direct handling. (The first generation Dax in 1969 was recreated by Item 16002.) Following on from the popular Monkey (Z-series) bikes, the Honda minibike Dax was announced in 1969. The Dax had a distinctive T-bone frame crafted in pressed steel which housed the fuel tank, and centrifugal clutch engine. It was designed to be ridden by anyone, anywhere, and its charming, distinctive form was loved all around the world. Although its Japanese sales finished in 1981, the Dax returned in 1995 with a similar design to the original. In 2022, Honda announced the Dax125 which inherits the established Dax identity, incorporating elements such as the T-bone frame, a long bench seat, a chrome upswept muffler and more. It can be ridden both on city streets and the open road. Owners can choose between the rich tone of pearl nebula red and understated yet elegant pearl cadet gray for the body. Having finally tasted success with the 1.5-liter RA272 the year before, the Honda engineers unfortunately had to start from scratch again, and the RA273 was not ready until the Italian GP in 1966. Featuring a lightweight monocoque frame with aluminum panels and powered by a 90 degree V-12 engine, it was driven by Richie Ginther and John Surtees, Ginther finishing the season in a respectable 4th place overall. In addition to the highly modified Japanese cars, the super cars of Europe, like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche, vie for the title. During the 1995 season Toyota entered a fleet of their race tuned Supra GT's into this popular event. Packed into the Supra look alike body shell was Toyota's latest racing technology. A 2,140cc, 4-cylinder turbocharged powerplant was taken from Toyota's Eagle Mk.III racing machine, which was active during the '93 IMSA races in the U.S.A. The X-Trac developed sequential 6-speed gearbox efficiently transmitted this engine's awesome power to the rear wheels. Four wheel double wishbone suspension components were taken from another Toyota prototype racer, the TS010. The body shell was extensively modified to obtain even better aerodynamics. Additional air intakes and outlets, oversized fenders and a huge rear spoiler, gave its massive silhouette and even more aggressive appearance. Four different racing teams used the Supra during the '95 season and among them, Tom's was sponsored by Castrol. The German Racing Championship (DRM) comprised two classes with displacements of 2,000 cm³ and more and under 2,000 cm³. The Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo was a vehicle that challenged the BMW 320 Turbo. It made its debut at the eighth DRM round in Hockenheim in the summer of 1978 and was characterized by an extremely low front end, a wide body and eye-catching red and yellow markings on a black background. This car regularly raced in the leading group and took its first victory in the spring race at the Nürburgring in October 1978. Despite nominal road car status the 300SL was still a very racy vehicle and proved popular, particularly in the United States. "light sports") with striking gull wing doors. 1,400 cars were produced by the end of its production run in May 1957. Tamiya presents the Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II 1991 on the popular TT-02 chassis. This car took part in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) in 1991. Based on the compact Mercedes-Benz 190 E, it received improved aerodynamics with components such as mudguards, front and rear spoilers and a large rear wing. The engine is a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder DOHC engine with 340 hp. In the same year, the works car, sponsored by the German beer brand König Pilsener, secured second place in the championship and took the manufacturers' championship from Mercedes-Benz. The R390 GT1 took its name from a car, R380, that excited Japanese motor sports enthusiasts over thirty years ago. Jointly developed by Nissan and TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing), the R390 GT1 is the state of the art racing expertise of them. Aerodynamically refined low and sleek body styling is suggestive of Nissan's highly competitive Gr. C machines raced during the 1980's. The 3.5 liter V8 engine, producing an awesome 600 horsepower output, is bolted directly to the carbon composite monocoque and works as a load-carrying element. The tremendous power is delivered to the rear wheels via a transversely mounted, six speed transmission. The four wheel double wishbone suspension system is connected to the horizontally mounted shock absorbers via pushrods and bell cranks to provide optimum road handling performance. Three R390 GT1's were entered in to the 1997 Le Mans event and, among them, the car No. 21 achieved a pole position in the pre-qualifying race. Just ten years prior to their 750F release, Honda opened up the field of multicylinder bikes with their now famous four cylinder CB750. Honda had won several Grand Prix motorcycle races with multi-cylinder bikes, and the CB750 was based upon these experiences. The engines worked flawlessly and provided very smooth power, and so shocked the industry that shortly many of the famous makers produced four cylinder large cubic motorcycles. Honda, of course, held the number one position in sales for many years, but then Kawasaki released their "Z" series DOHC 4 cylinder 750 bikes, and took over the number one position, relegating Honda to 2nd place. Honda, however, did not take this set back for long, and continued to improve their engines, and in 1979 released a CB750K DOHC with four valves per cylinder, a powerful 68hp, and new body styling. It was not long before Honda was again number one! The CB750F, released in June 1979 was styled after the very popular European Honda CB900F which had been copied from their racing RCB bike. This styling was new to stock motorcycles in the world. With the low positioned handle bars and rear positioned foot rests, allowed a "slouched" riding position. The style is setting the standard for the eighties. The CB750F is powered by a 4 cylinder DOHC 748cc engine with 4 valves per cylinder, and the 1981 version produces 70 brake horsepower. The bike has a double cradle frame of welded steel tubing, semi-air front suspension system, and FQV damped rear coils. Braking utilizes the dual piston caliper system, with dual discs in front and a single disc at the rear. A newly designed racing type front fender with spoiler has proved to be very popular among the bike enthusiasts. The overall styling of that unveiled in 1979, with the smooth flowing lines from tank to tail light have been retained, and it is likely that this fine motorcycle will stay at the forefront of sales for years to come. The Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo was developed in 1978 by the Zakspeed racing team for the DRM (German Racing Championship).
