1:350 Yamato, battleship model kit, new tooling

This 1:350 Yamato battleship model kit brings the famous WWII warship into a large-format build with new tooling and detail updates drawn from the latest historical research. At 752 mm in length, the assembled ship has the presence to show the revised foredeck, hull sides and stern clearly, whether displayed as a full-hull model or in waterline form. The kit depicts Yamato with the increased anti-aircraft armament of her final mission to Okinawa. Reconnaissance seaplanes and various small boats carried on the ship are included, adding activity and scale reference across the deck layout. Main gun turrets feature interior sections and turret mount detail below deck level, while secondary armament and both 12.7 mm and 25 mm AA gun mounts can be positioned with rotation and elevation. Elastomer parts are used for the canvas covers at the base of the main guns and for sand bags at AA positions, giving these shapes a more natural look. Two sheets of photo-etched parts add finer detail for elements such as ladders and cranes. The build suits careful painting and finishing, with about 90% of deck sections molded separately to keep major surfaces and fittings distinct during assembly. A 600-minute assembly time supports a longer bench session centered on structure, armament and deck equipment. Paints and cement are required separately.
