The Leopard 2A7V is one of the most modern battle tanks in the world and is used in numerous countries. The V stands for "improved" or, more accurately in German "verbessert". The improvements compared to the previous version are considerable: Better visibility through the use of modern optics and camera systems. More firepower through the revision of the 120mm cannon. The communication system has been improved and the Battle Management System (BMS) is used. The chassis has also been reinforced with an additional protection module and additional armor on the front protects the tank better against armor-piercing ammunition. The original weighs an impressive 63.9 tons and is powered by a 1500 hp engine. TAMIYA has now made this tank into a remote-controlled version in 1/16 scale. Here, too, the electronics have been completely redeveloped and the model redesigned compared to its predecessor, the 56020 2A6. The result is a real highlight: Both in terms of detail and the functions, it sets standards in this area. All functions can be controlled via the DMD T-12, such as driving functions, turret rotation, light functions, sounds and also the combination of sound, movement and light when firing a cannon, for example.
