Diorama Texture Paint Soil/Brown 250ml brings dark earth texture straight onto scenery surfaces with a water-based, paste-like formula. Special resin particles give the paint body for reproducing the dark soils common in Europe, while the wet surface stays workable long enough to press in uneven contours, shallow tracks or rough ground before the 4 to 5 hour drying time is complete. The thick consistency does more than add colour. It also conceals the base underneath and can be used like putty to fill small gaps in groundwork, edges or joins between scenic sections. One 250 ml jar covers about 250 x 353 mm at 2.5 coats, which helps when planning terrain areas on display bases or model scenes. If the mix becomes too dense during use, it can be thinned with water. Cleanup is also done with water before the material sets, and the formula has only a slight smell. Application suits a spatula or an old paintbrush, especially when building up thicker earth effects on embankments, roadside verges or worn ground around structures. After drying, the textured surface can be finished further with washing and dry brush effects using enamel paints, opening up layered weathering and more varied soil tones across the scene.
