300060312

€150.00

Article number: 300060312 Product: 1:32 Bo.F-15E Strike Eagle Bunker Buster About the Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle w/"Bunker Buster" The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle is regarded as one of the most capable twin-engine air-superiority fighters in the world today. Ever since its maiden flight in July 1972, this record breaking Mach 2.5 fighter has been a yardstick for jet fighter design. In the early 1980's, the Air Force requested McDonnell Douglas to modify their F-15 fighter into a dual-role aircraft to be known as the F-15E "Strike Eagle" for use as an air-to-air fighter, and for air to ground attack missions. This new version was designed to penetrate deep into enemy territory unescorted, and strike military targets with pinpoint accuracy. The strike eagle employs two highly reliable Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engines and was designed specifically as a two-person crew of pilot and weapons system officer. The LANTRIN (Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infra-Red for Night) system enables the Strike Eagle to operate at night and in bad weather. The Strike Eagle can also be employed with up to an 11-ton payload and can carry the GBU-28 Bunker Buster, a guided bomb developed to destroy strengthened underground bunkers. The Strike Eagle was first deployed in December 1989. During the Gulf War in 1991, 2 squadrons of 48 F-15E Strike Eagles demonstrated their power as multi-purpose fighter/attack planes. About the model The popular F-15E Strike Eagle (item 60302) was released in 1993. However, since this items release, the F-15E has come to be equipped with a variety of newly developed weapons systems. Following the changes in times and aviation fighting technology Tamiya has modernized its kit to feature accurate replicas of all the latest weapons systems employed by the F-15E Strike Eagle. Includes parts for replication of the GBU-28 "Bunker Buster", as well as AGM-130 and JDAM guided bombs, and ARAAM air-to-air missiles. 1/32 scale, total length 600, total width 404mm. Faithfully recreates intrepid form of Strike Eagle. Main parts such as fuselage and wings are to be fastened with screws.Radar unit/nose side-access panel, and Vulcan Cannon hatch can all be opened and closed after assembly. Canopy and air brakes can be assembled in either the up or down positions. Cockpit, radar, and Vulcan Cannon are all recreated down to the finest details. Each landing gear is brilliantly crafted in die-cast, and tires are fashioned with synthetic rubber. Each landing gear is brilliantly crafted in die-cast, and tires are fashioned with synthetic rubber. The Ausf. B was the first truly mass produced Stug III with 250 produced from June 1940. Featuring wide tracks and powered by a 230hp Maybach HL 120 TRM engine the Ausf. B boasted a top speed of 40km/h. The Ausf. B saw action during the Balkans campaign in April 1941 and Operation Barbarossa in June, 1941. The simple construction leading to low costs and easy mass production made the Stug III one of Germanys most produced armored vehicles with over 10,000 produced during WWII.

Article number: 300061073 Product: 1:48 WWII Douglas A-1J Skyrider USAF About the Douglas A-1J Skyraider U.S. Air Force Also going by the names Dauntless II, AD, A-1 Able Dog, and Spad, the Douglas Skyraider saw almost 30 years of service. The Skyraider's development started in June 1944. Not completed in time for WWII, its first combat came with the outbreak of the Korean War in June 1950. The first production version to roll out of the Douglas factory was designated the AD-1. Twelve years and seven versions later, over 3200 Skyraiders had been produced. Among those, the AD-6 version, also known as "Able Dog Six", was produced in the greatest numbers. The next and final version of the Skyraider, the AD-7, was extremely identical to the AD-6, but it had reinforced wing spars and wing fittings, as well as the strongest landing gear of all the variants. The AD-7 housed the new wright R-3350-26WB engine, which enabled a top speed of 285 knots. Due to a directive to standardize the designation of Navy and Air Force aircraft, AD-6 and AD-7 became known as A-1H and A-1J respectively. In 1965, when U.S. air operations in Vietnam became more aggressive, literally hundreds of Skyraiders, including the A-1J, were deployed to the 14th and 56th Special Operations Wings (SOW). Armed with Mk.82 and Mk.117 bombs, 20mm wing-mounted cannons, and rocket launchers, the Skyraiders were used in a wide variety of combat missions.

Honda CB750F

300014006

€24.99

Article number: 300014006 Product 1:12 Honda CB 750F The Honda CB750F Motorcycle appeared on the Japanese market in June 1979 and was shortly to become the best seller in the 750 class. Just ten years prior to their 750F release, Honda opened up the field of multicylinder bikes with their now famous four cylinder CB750. Honda had won several Grand Prix motorcycle races with multi-cylinder bikes, and the CB750 was based upon these experiences. The engines worked flawlessly and provided very smooth power, and so shocked the industry that shortly many of the famous makers produced four cylinder large cubic motorcycles. Honda, of course, held the number one position in sales for many years, but then Kawasaki released their "Z" series DOHC 4 cylinder 750 bikes, and took over the number one position, relegating Honda to 2nd place. Honda, however, did not take this set back for long, and continued to improve their engines, and in 1979 released a CB750K DOHC with four valves per cylinder, a powerful 68hp, and new body styling. It was not long before Honda was again number one! The CB750F, released in June 1979 was styled after the very popular European Honda CB900F which had been copied from their racing RCB bike. This styling was new to stock motorcycles in the world. With the low positioned handle bars and rear positioned foot rests, allowed a "slouched" riding position. The style is setting the standard for the eighties. The CB750F is powered by a 4 cylinder DOHC 748cc engine with 4 valves per cylinder, and the 1981 version produces 70 brake horsepower. The bike has a double cradle frame of welded steel tubing, semi-air front suspension system, and FQV damped rear coils. Braking utilizes the dual piston caliper system, with dual discs in front and a single disc at the rear. A newly designed racing type front fender with spoiler has proved to be very popular among the bike enthusiasts. The overall styling of that unveiled in 1979, with the smooth flowing lines from tank to tail light have been retained, and it is likely that this fine motorcycle will stay at the forefront of sales for years to come. Article number: 300035350 Product: 1/35 US M10 Mid Production This is a model of the famed M10 Tank Destroyer, a subject also covered in the 1/48 scale Military Miniature series. This largely newly-tooled model (only machine gun and clear parts are taken over from existing models) gives it the glorious detail of the larger 1/35 scale. The astonishing success of German armor tactics in 1940 prompted U.S. forces to adopt a doctrine requiring dedicated new tank destroyers to counter them. After going down a few different design routes at the start of the process, they eventually hit upon the highly successful M10 design with well-sloped (if rather thin, to keep the vehicle light and maneuverable) armor plate, and the highly capable 3-inch (76.2mm) gun. Over 4,900 were produced, and took part in Operation Torch (the invasion of N. Africa), as well as fighting in Italy and the advance upon Germany that would bring the exhausting conflict to a close. About the model 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 196mm, width: 88mm. Intensive study and measurement of the M10 in the tank museum at Saumur led to this highly detailed depiction of its form complete with sloped armor, right down to auxiliary armor bosses. The open top on the distinctive turret allows viewing of the 3-inch gun breech and realistic interior. Compare and contrast depictions of surface textures such as the cast mantlet and differential cover versus the welded armor plate of the turret sides and upper hull. Belt-type parts recreate T51 tracks. Driver's hatch can be attached in open or closed position, and features periscope depiction. Comes with 3 figures (commander, loader, gunner) in realistic pose, plus 2 marking options for recreating M10s belonging to the 601st and 634th U.S. Tank Destroyer Battalions   Warning! Article number: 300014063 Product: 1:12 Ducati 888 Superbike ´93 About the Ducati 888 Superbike Racer On the 26th of September 1993, a young and inspiring motorcycle racer named Tetsuya Harada was adding the final touches to his machine at the Jarama racing circuit, just prior tot he last round of the season. This would make him the first Japanese World Champion since 1977. His closest rival, Loris Capirossi, was ahead in point standings going into this last race, but bad luck plagued him during the dynamic battle for the 250cc GP2 title. Although this was Harada's debut season for the World Grand Prix, he had been working closely with Yamaha for the last couple of seasons, perfecting the works TZM bike, which allowed him to win the 1992 All Japan Championship title. The 1993 Yamaha TZ250M used a 249cc liquid cooled V-twin cylinder engine capable of 94 horsepower. Its crankcase reed valve induction system was combined with an electronically controlled exhaust valve system. The highly sophisticated six-speed gear box used an electronic cut-out gear changing system that eliminated clutch operation and minimized racing stresses. This awesome powerplant was mounted on Yamaha's exceptionally rigid twin-spar box-section aluminum frame that was capable of head angle adjustments. The rear suspension was also of box-sectioned aluminum to withstand the enormous power and traction. The bike rides on Marchesini cast magnesium wheels matched to Dunlop radial tires. The superb stopping power was achieved by front Brembo and rear Nissin Brake systems.

Article number: 300014057 Product 1:12 Honda VFR 750R 1987 About the Honda VFR750R Honda's release of their limited production, road-going, "works racer" VFR750R made headlines in the motorcycle scene in 1987. The VFR750R is a street-legal counterpart of the formidable RVF750 endurance racer which displayed remarkable potential in the world endurance championships. This bike follows the concept seen in the RVF750, including the use of space-age technology and components such as titanium, carbon-fiber, kevlar, and magnesium. It betters the earlier bikes by a wide margin. The VFR750R also uses a twin-spar aluminum box frame, Pro-Arm (rear swing arm), and a center-lock hub rear wheel. These superlative features and the RVF's racing reputation have made it a collector's item even before the first unit was off the production line. The 748cc, liquid cooled, V4 cylinder 16 valve engine has been kept compact to keep the VFR's overall dimensions very close to the current 500cc Grand Prix racers, for a minimum frontal area. Further, this motorcycle departs from the typical Japanese mass-production practice by using a great deal of human labor on each unit, such as the FRP cowling and windscreen being laid up by hand. The Honda VFR750R is one potent package and has been designed to be very competitive on racing tracks in stock form, yet remain street legal. It will remain a desirable and elusive high performance bike for years to come.   Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.

300014084

€42.99

About the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R Kawasaki's legacy of cutting-edge sportbikes has inspired motorcycle fans for generations. Recently, the call for 300km/h plus super sports bikes has motivated several manufactures to bring out powerful contenders. Kawasaki answered the call at the 1999 Paris Motorcycle Show, with the impressive debut of their all-new Ninja ZX-12R. This Ninja was reportedly created in the image of a fighter plane, which comes as no surprise considering that its slippery aerodynamics involved the cooperation of the Aerospace Division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. In fact, the ZX-12R spent more time in the wind tunnel during its development phase than any motorcycle in Kawasaki's history. The results are evident: small winglets on the sides of the fairing separate airflow around the bike; small wind deflectors on the lower forks deflect turbulent air from the engine; a long lip on the edge of the fairing further smoothens out airflow. Also, projecting just ahead of the front fairing, a large scoop takes advantage of higher air pressure, heightening intake efficiency. A monocoque frame backbone creates an airbox that allows air to pass through the inside of the bike for cooling in addition to ensuring overall rigidity. The powerplant of the Ninja ZX-12R is a fuel injected 4-cylinder 1,199cc engine that pumps out an abundant 178hp. Its four-into-two-into-one exhaust system features a titanium muffler paired with a catalyzer, which helps eliminate unburned hydrocarbons for cleaner emissions. Kawasaki brilliantly raised the superbike standard in performance, power and aerodynamics with their series flagship, the Ninja ZX-12R.

Plastic model kits – the perfect hobby for children and adults

As a creative and varied hobby, plastic model making is popular among children, adolescents and adults alike. With time, patience and skill, complex plastic model kits containing hundreds of small parts can be turned into eye-catching models.

Plastic model making – what are plastic model kits?

Plastic model kits are made primarily of plastic (and more specifically, polystyrene). In general, the focus of plastic models tends to be on detailed designs rather than functionality.

Most plastic model kits consist of so-called “sprues” (plastic frames) containing individual parts, which must be separated before assembly. Depending on the difficulty rating, the parts are either unpainted or come ready painted or printed. If the parts are unpainted, they must be painted using a brush or an airbrush pistol (paints must be purchased separately). With unpainted parts, you can decide whether to follow the template or create your own design. With the right know-how and experience, you can also create custom models by combining parts from several different kits – so-called “kit bashing” or “scratch building”.

What is the recommended minimum age for plastic model kits?

Plastic models are often highly detailed, and therefore require a certain amount of skill – an important factor to bear in mind before purchasing a model making kit for your child. Depending on your child’s age, they may not have the full range of fine motor skills required to assemble a model, and may end up feeling frustrated. As a parent, you should choose an age-appropriate model and provide appropriate supervision and assistance during the assembly process. With adult supervision, some plastic model making kits are suitable for children as young as five.
